Job Title: Computer Operator

As a Computer Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of computer systems and equipment. Your role involves monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine maintenance tasks to support the organization’s IT infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in maintaining data integrity and minimizing downtime.
System Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Monitor computer systems and network devices to ensure they are operating efficiently.
- Perform routine checks to identify and resolve hardware or software issues.
- Execute system backups and data recovery procedures.
- Schedule and execute batch processing jobs as required.
- Monitor and manage job queues to ensure timely completion.
- Troubleshoot and address job processing errors.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems promptly.
- Escalate complex issues to the IT team or vendors as needed.
- Maintain a detailed record of incidents and resolutions.
Security and Access Control:
- Enforce security protocols and access controls to protect data and systems.
- Assist in maintaining user accounts and permissions.
- Report security breaches or vulnerabilities to IT security personnel.
- Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for routine tasks.
- Document system configurations and changes.
- Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets.
- Collaborate with IT staff to implement system upgrades and patches.
- Provide technical support to end-users and assist with software installations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or technical training are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Computer Operator or in a similar IT support role.
- Familiarity with computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
